BROCKTON, MA, March 21, 2006- Carlo Gavazzi Computing Solutions announced today that it is a Principal Partner in the Independent Software Vendor (ISV) implementation of the Sun Partner Advantage Program. Carlo Gavazzi Computing Solutions qualified for this level by meeting Sun’s stringent criteria for excellence as a supplier of the SolarisTM 10 Operating System (OS)-ready hardware and software solutions, and by committing to tight strategic and technical alignment with Sun.
By achieving Principal Partner status, Carlo Gavazzi Computing Solutions joins the growing community of ISVs that are developing applications for porting applications to the Solaris 10 Operating System, the most advanced OS on the planet. The benefits to Sun customers include access to a broader range of pre-tested, optimized solutions; investment protection and reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) through collaborative engineering between Sun and its partners; and a higher level of predictability and support as Sun rolls out its latest technologies and software upgrades.
The Fabric & Connectivity Division of Carlo Gavazzi Computing Solutions, formerly known as Aurora Technologies, Inc., is an innovator of Fabric and Serial I/O board- and system-level products. Founded in 1988 as developer of serial connectivity and console management solutions for the Solaris OS marketplace, the Fabric & Connectivity Division continues to enhance its legacy serial products for the Sun marketplace, while expanding its connectivity products with a special focus on Switch Fabric/StarFabric technologies, emerging PICMG standards, and Linux.
Specifically, Carlo Gavazzi Computing Solutions is porting its complete line of multi-port serial controllers and switch fabric adapters to the Solaris 10 OS on SPARC(r) and x64 platforms. The Fabric & Connectivity Division’s line of StarFabric products were developed for applications that support multiple classes of high-speed data traffic, including legacy, path routing, and multicasting. Carlo Gavazzi Computing Solutions’ line of PCI expansion products offers additional PCI slots to PCI express, PCIx, PCI AdvancedTCA and CompactPCI systems. Likewise, the Fabric and Connectivity Division offers multi-port serial controllers/servers for PCI and CompactPCI systems which are used by a wide variety of end-user applications from defense systems to Point of Sale applications. Finally, the Carlo Gavazzi console management product, ControlTower has been released for the Solaris 10 OS. ControlTower gives system administrators a simple and effective way to locally and remotely administer hundreds of serial line consoles from a single host console.
The following Fabric & Connectivity Division of Carlo Gavazzi Computing Solutions products meet the Sun Partner Advantage Program requirements:
* Aurora Brand Console Management – ControlTower for the Solaris 10 OS
* Aurora Brand Serial I/O & Fabrics – PCI and CompactPCI Serial controllers and StarFabric product suite
* Aurora Brand System Expansion – CompactPCI, PCI, and StarFabric
