FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz., July 26, 2011 — OpenSystems Media (OSM), LLC today announced the addition of a new editorial director, Mike Demler, effective immediately. Demler will be editorial director for DSP-FPGA covering DSP, FPGA, Analog, Android, EDA, and LTE.
Mike joins a new expanding top notch OSM editorial team including VME industry expert Jerry Gipper, new editorial director for VME and Critical Systems magazine and Warren Webb, internationally known industry analyst and editor, OSM’s new editorial director.
OpenSystems Media is dedicated to developing and delivering effective and measurable deep technical content. Additionally, OSM continues to enhance its offerings and establish new resources, insight on news, and trends for the DSP and FPGA community.
Mike’s will be responsible for the DSP-FPGA Resource Guide, virtual events, Tech E-briefs, and TechChannel newsletters (one per month) with topics including FPGA, EDA, DSP, Android, analog, and LTE. In addition, Mike will manage OSM’s second annual EDA Virtual Summit and the 2012 FPGA Virtual Summit, and will moderate E-casts on topics from the TechChannel newsletters.

More recently, he co-chaired the EE Times System-on-Chip (SoC) Virtual Event.
Mike Demler has more than 30 years of experience in high-tech industries spanning semiconductors, software, digital media, and wireless technology. Mike formerly worked at EDN writing on semiconductor technology, IC design and applications, DSP, FPGAs and programmable logic, EDA, and embedded processors. Formerly an IC designer, he is a content expert in all chip-related topics, specializing in signal processing applications. A former Synopsys employee, he was at the forefront of their social media effort. He also was an industry analyst for the mobile wireless industry, and is especially interested in 4G, LTE, and the Android ecosystem.
Mike authored the book, High Speed Analog to Digital Conversion and is an inventor with eight U.S. patents. Along with a Master of Business Administration from San Jose State University, he earned his Master of Science degree in Electronic Engineering from Southern Methodist University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
