July 2005 – Ann Arbor, MI – Concurrent Technologies announces their latest dual display graphics PMC adaptor. The IO PMC/DG1 is a high performance low power adaptor supporting two video graphics engines enabling two display connections to be driven simultaneously with different resolutions and refresh rates. The output of these engines feed three display connections – an analog RGB (to CRT) interface and a digital TMDS (to DFP) interface available via a front panel DVI-I connector and a second DVI-D compatible TMDS interface available via the rear P4 connector. The CRT interface supports resolutions of up to 2048×1536 and the DFP interface supports up to 1600×1200. The IO PMC/DG1 can be used with Concurrent Technologies’ CompactPCI®, VME, Multibus II or any other PMC compliant host board. Example applications include hi-resolution color graphics, CAE/CAD/CAM, image processing, mapping systems and video walls.

Depending on the operating system, the IO PMC/DG1 supports a wide range of display resolutions and refresh rates for standard and wide-screen formats. The adaptor supports a range of 2D/3D DFP resolutions up to 1600×1200, a range of 2D CRT resolutions up to 2048×1536 and a range of 3D CRT resolutions up to 1920×1200. All display resolutions can support up to 32 bits per pixel color depth. The maximum DFP refresh rate for a resolution of 1600×1200 is 60Hz and the maximum CRT refresh rate for a resolution of 2048×1536 is 75Hz, other CRT refresh rates are 1600×1200 at 120Hz and 1400×1050 at 160Hz maximum. For hot-swapping displays, the DVI-I and PMC P4 connectors have independent Display Data Channel (DDC) and Hot Plug Detect (HPD) capability for simultaneous and independent operation.

The IO PMC/DG1 PMC adaptor utilizes the ATI Mobility™ Radeon® 7500, an embedded long life 3D/2D dual display graphics processor; this processor provides exceptional 2D/3D video graphics performance with low power consumption (typically 3.4W). The Mobility Radeon 7500 provides two video graphics engines which support output pixel rates of up to 350MHz sourced from 32 Mbytes of internal 183MHz 64-bit DDR SDRAM.

The IO PMC/DG1 is a single-width PMC card and is compliant with the CMC (Common Mezzanine Card) specification. The board complies with the PCI specification, features a PCI 33/66MHz 32-bit interface and supports 3.3V/5V signaling. A 128Kbyte on-board video BIOS EPROM is fitted.

Operating systems supported include Windows® 2000, Windows® XP, Windows® XP Embedded, Linux® and QNX®.
