EMBEDDED WORLD CONFERENCE 2011, Nuremberg, Germany, March 2, 2011. ALT Software has been selected by Singapore-based Anuva Technologies to provide graphics drivers for their new XMC embedded graphics module. Anuva’s industrial-rated XMC board is designed to support high reliability mil-aero, medical, and industrial applications that require low-power 2D and 3D graphics and robust video capabilities. The XMC board fully leverages the Fujitsu Ruby’s impressive video functionality with four independent video capture input channels, component and composite video capture, and two independent video output channels that support popular display resolutions of up to 1280×1024 or 1600×600. Anuva’s XMC module is specifically designed for resource constrained devices with low power consumption requirements and is available in a conduction-cooled industrial rated version with an operating temperature range of 40C to +85C. Anuva also provides long-term component supply management for manufacturers of devices with extended product life cycles.

ALT Software brings XMC graphics controller support to embedded operating systems such as embedded Linux, WindRiver VxWorks, Green Hills INTEGRITY, and their safety critical variants (Wind River 653, Green Hills INTEGRITY-178B). For avionics platforms, ALT provides DO-178B certifiable versions of their OpenGL SC drivers, including the full suite of certification evidence required for regulatory approval, up to Design Assurance Level A for safety critical systems.

“Anuva selected ALT Software to support our XMC product line because of their proven track record of delivering high performance graphics solutions into our target markets as well as the wide range of pre and post sales support options they provide to our customers,” said Suresh Karanth, Senior Director at Anuva Technologies.

“ALT Software has been working extensively with Fujitsu to develop embedded graphics drivers and 3D libraries for their graphics controllers.” said Darryl Parisien, President of ALT Software. “We are looking forward to introducing this exciting new XMC module to our Fujitsu customers as a low-power 2D / 3D graphics solution with very impressive video capabilities.”

“The Fujitsu Ruby was specifically designed for use in high reliability and harsh environments. It is particularly well suited for aircraft flight displays, reconfigurable vehicle instrument clusters, industrial control and facility monitoring systems and medical devices,” said Markus Mierse, Director of Fujitsu Semiconductor Europe’s Graphics Competence Center. “Anuva’s XMC graphics module takes full advantage of Ruby’s features in a high performance, ruggedized platform. The combination of this impressive module with ALT Software’s field-proven embedded graphics drivers and a top performing RTOS like VxWorks or INTEGRITY is an excellent graphics solution for high reliability embedded systems.”
