Falls Church, VA, December 21, 2011 – HandySoft (www.handysoft.com), a leading provider of Business Process Management (BPM) technology and solutions, is proud to announce that two of their customers, Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT), and the Naval Special Warfare Group Four’s (NSWG4) Government Purchase Card Program, have placed in the 2011 Global Awards for Excellence in BPM & Workflow. JLT has been named the Gold winner in the Europe region, while NSWG4 has been named the Silver winner for the North American region.

JLT and NSWG4 were announced as winners during Monday’s Virtual Ceremony Webinar. Nathaniel Palmer, WfMC Executive Director and Industry Analyst, opened the awards ceremony and gave an overview of the trends observed during the judging process for these prestigious awards, now in their 18th year. The lead judge, Keith Swenson, described the major highlights of JLT’s and NSWG4’s winning case studies, along with the case studies of the other finalists. The winners in each region are organizations that have demonstrably excelled in implementing innovative business process solutions to meet strategic business objectives.

JLT’s program, named the Gold winner in the Europe region, was born from the need to continue growing at a rapid pace while containing costs. The EB Group within JLT (JLT EB) has been using BPM as far back as 2004. Between 2007-2010, JLT made more than 20 acquisitions globally across the group. JLT EB operations quickly became highly complex, distributed and paper-based. Processes treated more than 16 million workflow elements, 300+ million rows of table data and 15 million SharePoint documents. The company knew that it would have to do more with less to continue its growth while minimizing costs. JLT EB accomplished its goals of increased revenues with lower costs with continual investment in BPM. JLT EB has used BPM to streamline over 200 processes. From an ROI standpoint, this work has provided a key business component, contributing to JLT EB’s growth in trading profit by 50% in the last financial year. Revenue growth is enabled by more flexible solutions that can be highly tailored to internal client needs as well as end-customer engagements. Cost cutting is enabled through the use of process automation tied together with effective scanning, document handling and rule-based routing. Paper is largely removed, deadlines hit, and governance accomplished.

NSWG4’s successful program, named the Silver winner for the North American region, was developed in response to their need to improve efficiency, transparency, and reliability of their processing system to ensure their ability to complete missions with fewer available assets. The solution expertly weaves Lean Six Sigma and dynamic BPM into a system called SWIFT – which successfully met this challenge, and exceeded expectations. Within a 6 month time-frame, SWIFT was up and running, and NSWG4 had an automated workflow solution in place that reduced procurement lead time, improved accuracy, visibility, and all around satisfaction and improved performance of the Government Purchase Card Program (GPCP) process. Built upon BizFlow, HandySoft’s automated business process workflow software application, and guided by input and active participation from the SWIFT team and consultants RF Logistics, this solution provides visibility into the process, standardization, and forcing function for over 6,000 purchases and $5.2 million spent annually.

“We’re thrilled that JLT’s program was named the Gold winner in the Europe region, while NSWG4’s Government Purchase Card Program was chosen as the Silver winner in the North American region,” said Harry Clarke, President and CEO, HandySoft. “In the face of heavy competition, we’re honored that both programs were recognized by industry leaders as innovative business process solutions.”

Both programs will receive additional recognition by having their case studies published in the annual edition of BPM Excellence in Practice by Future Strategies Inc.
