These services, electrical engineering and project management, complement the company’s current board design/layout, component creation, and library management services.

Companies have long outsourced parts of the design process but are looking for a broader set of engineering services, and the project management to coordinate activities across all personnel and suppliers. Outsourcing the entire product development process, from architectural design through volume production, is often used by large enterprises for consumer market products such as cell phones and/or digital cameras. However, this outsourcing model is not preferred or sometimes not available for business products where technical and intellectual property must be protected, or where product volumes are not sufficient.
Stilwell Baker’s new services will take a design from the architectural/system/logic design level through component selection and sourcing, DfX reviews, material selection, board design & layout, thru prototype manufacturing and test. The company supports these design steps by managing component libraries and the overall project.
