SAN JOSE, Calif. – May 11, 2011 – Quantum3D, Inc., a leading provider of visual computing solutions for government and commercial applications, today announced its Thermite® TL tactical visual computer has been integrated into the Man-portable Aircraft Survivability Trainer (MAST) developed by AAI Test & Training, an operating unit of Textron Systems, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company. Recently selected by the U.S. Army Program Executive of Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) for strategic training initiatives, MAST replicates effects of an infrared (IR) threat-based weapon and activates aircraft survivability equipment and systems to provide more realistic training scenarios.

“Our line of rugged Thermite PCs are designed to support the unique needs of various military training and combat applications, including man-wearable, robots, ground vehicles, tanks, and aircraft,” said Arthur Yan, president, Quantum3D. “The Thermite TL offers a unique combination of portability, performance and design features and benefits, including one of the smallest footprints in the industry, a lower overall operating temperature, availability and accessibility of ports, as well as the ability to capture and store video.”

Quantum3D’s Thermite computer runs the MAST application software to simulate a missile and capture videos for after-action review. The system’s small size and rugged packaging make the Thermite TL ideal for mobile battery-powered applications such as MAST. In addition, the Thermite TL offers real-time visualization capabilities with embedded computing, 2D/3D graphics, extended-environment conduction cooling technologies, and support for open- architecture operating systems.

MAST is a cost-effective, man-portable aircraft survivability trainer utilizing many non- developmental items and off-the-shelf components, including the Thermite TVC 2.0 TL. The trainer consistently delivers precise stimulation of missile warning systems, replicates the

ultraviolet (UV) effects of surface-to-air missiles and provides comprehensive after-action video for continuing pilot skills development. The MAST system can stimulate the AAR-47, AAR-54, AAR-57 and AAR-60 missile warning systems (MWS) utilized by the U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force.
