FREMONT, California – November 2, 2006 – Themis Computer announced today the appointment of Michael D. Crocker, 56, to the position of chief operating officer. The appointment of Michael Crocker reflects the company’s desire to strengthen it’s executive ranks and helps position the company to achieve its aggressive growth objectives.
Throughout his career, Crocker has directed organizational teams responsible for providing high- availability, high-performance computing solutions in mission-critical computing environments. Crocker has more than fifteen years in the network services and information systems industries, in both domestic and international markets. Prior to joining Themis Computer, Crocker worked as chief of staff, DRS Technologies, Inc., a military electronics integrator and OEM, for the last seven years. Prior to DRS, Crocker was with the U.S. Navy where he was responsible for one of the Navy’s most successful procurement program offices, PMS 440. In that capacity, Crocker oversaw the Navy’s Q-70 program, a groundbreaking and highly successful introduction of commercial off the shelf (COTS) electronics into mission critical military systems. Crocker has a MBA degree from the National Defense University of Defense Systems Management and a M.S. in Computer Science degree from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
At Themis, Crocker will be responsible for the sales and manufacturing of the company’s embedded computing products, COTS-based servers, and its recently announced Quorum real-time resource management software. Crocker will leverage his experience, gained at DRS and the U.S. Navy, to develop and implement new business development strategies and operational processes, to increase Themis’ sales and revenues.
“We are pleased to have a man with Michael Crocker’s intellect, experience and high moral character, join the Themis Executive team, stated William Kehret, CEO of Themis Computer. “Michael is a hands-on, results oriented executive, experienced in the integration of products, services and support, as both a user and a supplier. His knowledge of computing solutions, services and support along with his track record of building successful teams, will be a tremendous value to us, as we grow our business,” Mr. Kehret added.
“I am very excited about the opportunities at Themis Computer. I’m joining the company when it is poised to introduce new products that will expand its market presence with innovative offerings that meet and exceed tomorrow’s computing requirements,” stated Michael Crocker, chief operating officer of Themis Computer. ”The exploding adoption of multi-platform hardware and software initiatives, in complex IT environments, is creating uncertainty in terms of scalability, manageability and return on investment. My experience with these technologies convinces me that Themis’ products and solutions provide a pragmatic framework for businesses seeking open, industry standard protocols, to reduce the total cost of ownership, of their computing resources. It’s gratifying for me to be associated with a leading provider of products and solutions, that can extend the lifecycle of their customer’s computing assets and add value to their mission-critical systems,” Mr. Crocker added.
