Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing names Steve Edwards new Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

LEESBURG, VA – November 12, 2009 — Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing, a leading designer and manufacturer of rugged deployed commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) VME, VPX and CompactPCI products and systems for the aerospace and defense market has announced the appointment of Steve Edwards to the position of chief technology officer (CTO). In his new role, Mr. Edwards reports directly to Lynn Patterson, vice president and general manager of Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing.

“We are very pleased to name Steve Edwards chief technology officer (CTO),” said Ms. Patterson. “Steve has demonstrated outstanding technical leadership and teamwork, and is truly focused on shaping the future of Embedded Computing.”

Mr. Edwards was named a Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing Technical Fellow in 2008. He joined the company in 1998, in the position of senior hardware engineer, and has since held numerous leadership positions including technical product lead and product development manager. More recently, in the position of technical product manager, Mr. Edwards has been responsible for product definition, architecture, technical bid response, and pre-sales customer interaction on major programs. Mr. Edwards was also responsible for the development of the company’s first FPGA-based computing platform.
