Dynetics is building a new facility that will increase design and development capabilities for the company, providing a more extensive range of services to customers in both the government and commercial sectors. The facility, which will be located on the company’s campus in Huntsville’s Cummings Research Park, will be 226,500 total square feet with approximately 110,000 square feet of prototype development and low-rate production space; the remainder will be office space.

The new facility, scheduled to open next spring, will expand Dynetics’ capabilities in research and development and production for defense, aerospace and cyber products. It will be a high-tech design, development and prototyping facility, incorporating the latest resources available to produce quality products rapidly and affordably for both government and commercial customers.

“Dynetics has a proven history of specialized product development and service for our customers, providing solutions for even the most challenging problems,” said Dynetics Executive Vice President David King. “Our new facility will allow us to expand our capabilities even further.”

The new facility will provide space for the company’s hardware integration; specialty item production; space systems work (including satellite integration); and specialized systems, subsystems and tools development.

Dynetics’ hardware niche is complex technology, high-quality, low-volume design, development and manufacturing and test. Products include small satellites, propulsion systems, instrumentation systems, custom hardware designs, ground systems, unmanned systems, warhead fragmentation sleeves and specialized munitions.

Dr. Marc Bendickson, CEO of Dynetics, said, “The development of this latest facility will take our capability to design, develop and produce complex hardware systems and equipment to a whole new level. It has been specifically tailored to address some of the most challenging defense and aerospace problems our nation faces today.”

Alabama Senator Richard Shelby commented on the expansion: “This facility will be an outstanding asset for our national security capabilities, the continuation of U.S. supremacy in space and the north Alabama community. The synergy created by incorporating research and development assets with high-tech manufacturing will allow Dynetics to offer the best solution for the warfighter at the best value for the taxpayer.”
