Themis Builds Blade Server Based On Sun Microsystems’

UltraSPARC T2 Processor

SANTA CLARA and FREMONT, California – June 2, 2008 – Sun Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ: JAVA) and Themis Computer(R) today announced that Themis will make and sell blade servers based on Sun’s UltraSPARC(R) T2 CMT (chip multithreading) processor running the Solaris(TM) 10 Operating System (OS). Called the T2BC(TM), the blade further extends the proliferation of Sun’s core technologies while helping to reach customers outside Sun’s traditional enterprise data center. According to the Q108 IDC Worldwide Quarterly Server Tracker, Suns blade server business achieved triple-digit factory revenue and shipment growth year-over-year; Themis helps supplement that growth by addressing alternative form-factors. The T2BC blade is the first of several products that Themis is developing based on Sun’s UltraSPARC T2 processor. For more information about Sun UltraSPARC T2 processors go to www.sun.com/processors/UltraSPARC-T2/.

“Sun’s blade server business is growing rapidly, and we’re building on that success by pushing our CMT processors into new markets and to new customers,” said Mike Splain, executive vice president of Sun Microelectronics. “Our commitment to openness is helping Sun reach more customers and build a more vibrant ecosystem of developers and partners around the company’s technologies and solutions.”

“Our T2BC blade server is Themis’ first product using the UltraSPARC T2 processor and continues the long partnership we have had with Sun,” said Bill Kehret, president and CEO of Themis. “Our customers are always looking for more performance and lower power, and the UltraSPARC T2 processors innovative chip multithreading architecture provides both. As with our other highly successful SPARC-based computing products, our T2BC blades are designed to operate seamlessly within a Sun network,” Mr. Kehret added.
