“The 3U Compact PCI form factor is experiencing dynamic growth in the COTS computer board market and is expected to grow by more than 33% from 2005 to 2007 just in North America,” said Eric Gulliksen, Principal Analyst at Venture Development Corp. “Mercury’s product offering is well-timed because 3U boards and systems are a perfect fit for the growing list of space-constrained applications, such as small UAVs and airborne pods, as well as avionics and vehicle electronics for smaller vehicles.”

The Momentum Series CP3-102 contains two PowerPC MPC7448 microprocessors with AltiVec vector processing technology running up to 1.4 GHz. The two processors are connected in an SMP configuration for easier programming access to the common 1 GB of DDR2-400 memory with error checking and correcting (ECC) logic. Standard I/O connected through the backplane includes two Gigabit Ethernet, two RS-232, and two USB 2.0 ports. The Momentum Series P3-102 is available with board support packages for VxWorks and Linux.

The Momentum Series CP3-102 is available for US$5,950. For more information on the Momentum Series CP3-102, visit Mercury at the Wind River Worldwide User Conference May 16-18, visit www.mc.com/momentum, or contact Mercury at (866) 627-6951.
