MELBOURNE, Fla., Oct. 18 — Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has promoted Brendan O’Connell to the position of president of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) business unit at Harris RF Communications. O’Connell succeeds Stephen Marschilok, who has been named president of the Public Safety and Professional Communications (PSPC) business unit at Harris RF Communications.

O’Connell has spent the last five years as vice president of U.S. DoD sales. Prior to that, he held management positions of increasing responsibility including director of European and Central Asia sales and director of Asia Pacific sales, Middle East sales and Government Programs.

O’Connell has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Widener University, a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from the University of Rochester. He also is a graduate of the RF Communications Rotational Development Program.
