Montreal, Canada, March 7th, 2007 – Matrox Graphics Inc., the leading manufacturer of graphics solutions for professionals, unveils the TripleHead2Go Digital Edition, the latest addition to the Graphics eXpansion Module (GXM) line. This new external graphics upgrade device allows users to convert a dual-link DVI output into three standard DVI outputs. TripleHead2Go Digital Edition supports a stretched desktop of up to 3840×1024 (triple 1280×1024)1 across three monitors, allowing an easy multi-display upgrade path for compatible notebook, desktop or workstation systems. Users of the TripleHead2Go Digital Edition can also choose to operate in DualHead® mode with a combined resolution of up to 3840×1200 (dual 1920×1200)1.

“TripleHead2Go Digital Edition is a highly flexible tool for IT managers responsible for CAD, GIS, dispatch, security, and process control systems,” says Samuel Recine, Business Development Manager, Matrox Graphics Inc. “With this external upgrade, it is now possible to add extra displays to closed, already validated, mission-critical systems without compromising system manufacturers’ warranties by changing the originally supplied graphics processing unit. It also allows IT managers to upgrade laptop computers, computers with no available expansion slots, or desktops with integrated graphics that are limited to one display output.”

The ability to work with three screens, delivered by TripleHead2Go Digital Edition, enables users to work with multiple full-screen documents or applications simultaneously-eliminating the need to constantly open, close, or minimize applications. In addition, the Matrox PowerDesk SE2 interface allows users to benefit from image quality adjustment and window management features. TripleHead2Go Digital Edition is a versatile, cost-effective, and easy-to-use solution, which increases productivity.

Matrox Graphics eXpansion Modules are small external boxes that are simple to setup—there is no need to open the computer to insert additional parts. The operating system detects the GXM as an ultra-widescreen monitor, which is then split into two or more standard resolutions compatible with the attached displays while harnessing the graphics hardware already present in the system for all 2D, 3D, and video acceleration.

System Compatibility

TripleHead2Go Digital Edition includes support for Windows Vista™, Windows® XP, Windows® 2000, Windows® XP x64bit operating systems and Mac® OS X v10.4, and is compatible with many professional desktops and notebooks. A compatibility list is posted on the Matrox website. For complete details, click here.
