New SBCs offer installed base a functional compatible alternative supported with industry leading lifecycle management services
LEESBURG, VA – May 17, 2006 — Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing, a leading designer and manufacturer of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) VME products, has introduced three new single and dual processor VMEbus single board computers (SBCs), Manta/61x, Raptor/55x and Falcon/51x, that offer functional compatibility and competitive performance to Motorola Embedded Communications Computing’s (MECC) legacy single processor MVME5100, MVME5500 and MVME6100 products. In addition, Curtiss-Wright offers industry leading lifecycle management services for long lifecycle defense and aerospace applications.
The Manta/61x, Raptor/55x and Falcon/51x are designed for commercial and semi-rugged military application environments. For more demanding applications Curtiss-Wright also offers extended ruggedization levels, including conduction-cooled versions of each SBC.
“For military customers who require long-term availability and support, Curtiss-Wright’s new SBCs provide a slot replacement alternative that will meet or exceed their current solution,” said Lynn Patterson, vice president and general manager of Curtiss Wright’s Modular Solutions group. “Even better, we’ve combined the highest level of legacy compatibility with our long tradition of setting the standard for Mil/Aerospace embedded computing lifecycle management services. With dual processor technology and a commitment to long lifecycles that extends product support and availability to 10 and 15 years and beyond, offered at the right price, we deliver a significant alternative to Mil system developers.”
