Springfield, Va. — January 15, 2007 — Cornet Technology Communications (CTC), the network communications solutions division of Cornet Technology, Inc. (CTI), introduced its Celero CVME-7448M product, the first VME-based PCI Express multi-processing solution on the market, today at the Bus&Board Conference 2007. The Celero CVME-7448M is an embedded computing platform geared towards image, radar and laser processing applications used in state of the art intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) military equipment. The platform is capable of collecting, analyzing and disseminating a high volume of real-time data.

Interested parties are invited to meet with Cornet Technology representatives at the show, January 15 and 16, 2007 at the Hyatt Regency, Long Beach, California. Cornet Technology will be exhibiting at booth #23.

The Celero CVME-7448M is powered by a multi-processing engine consisting of four Freescale PowerPC MPC7448 processors, each running at a clock speed of 1.267 GHz. The processing engine and two PMC/XMC high speed I/O sites are linked in a PCI Express switched fabric interconnect interface via the VME Switched standard (VXS, VITA-41/VITA-41.4), which allows the routing of up to 16 lanes of 2.5 Gbps traffic, both within and outside the VME board. To maintain legacy compatibility, the four processors and the two PMC/XMC sites are linked in a ring topology through a PCI-X local bus, running at 64-bit/100 MHz.

Manville Chan, program manager, Cornet Technology Communications division, said, “The Celero CVME-7448M was designed to address the growing interest in using PCI Express as a switched interconnect interface among military designers. Combining PCI Express and the multi-processing architecture, CVME-7448M provides a powerful solution to satisfy the enormous amounts of intelligence gathered in sophisticated military ISR equipment.”

The Celero CVME-7448M includes board support packages (BSP) for VxWorks® 6.x operating systems, allowing the seamless integration of application codes into a real-time operating system environment.
