OpenSystems Publishing (OSP), LLC, today announced that it has purchased the assets of MIL/COTS DIGEST. This primarily-product-focused publication brought information and news concerning COTS products and technology to engineers, engineering managers, and program managers in a tabloid format. The MIL/COTS DIGEST name and web site will be added to OpenSystems Publishing’s Military Embedded Systems publication and web site.
This transaction makes Military Embedded Systems one of the top COTS publications in the industry and one of the few that supports print, E-letter, E-lert, podcast, and webcast content directly to engineers. The total number of subscribers in print will increase to 35,000 and online to 25,000. This is the largest circulation of an embedded trade publication focused on military/COTS market.
“This deal is just the latest in our wide-ranging efforts to expand, deepen, and improve OpenSystems Publishing’s publications and services,” said Chris Ciufo, group editorial director, Military & Aerospace Group, OpenSystems Publishing. “We will to continue to serve the MIL/COTS DIGEST readers via print or digital download both of which will include the industry’s best technical editorial along with the latest developments in the ever-growing military/COTS industry.”
MIL/COTS DIGEST subscribers will continue to have the publication and web site available to them, through OpenSystems Publishing. Military Embedded Systems will add two special new product-only supplements in 2007 featuring the MIL/COTS DIGEST name and design.
OpenSystems Publishing will publish the first MIL/COTS DIGEST supplement starting with the May 2007 issue of Military Embedded Systems. This supplement will also be available online.
