TEMPE, Ariz [April 20, 2010] – Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE:EMR) and the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity™, today announced its participation in the Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) Silicon Valley 2010 to be held April 26 through 29, at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, Calif. Located in booth #1638, Emerson Network Power’s Embedded Computing business will showcase its latest innovations in embedded systems technologies for the military, aerospace, automation, medical and industrial markets.

Booth Demonstrations

Emerson Network Power will host several in-booth product showcases at the event, including live proof-of-concept demonstrations of a wireless medical cart and an intelligent kiosk.

The medical cart proof-of-concept demonstration features Emerson Network Power’s MicroATX embedded motherboard powered by the latest Intel® Core™ i7 mobile processorintegrated into a next-generation, FDA Class 1 wireless Flo Series mobile workstation developed by Emerson’s Metro business. The platform combines the enhanced performance, security and management features of Intel’s Core silicon with the workstation’s easily serviceable mid-plane and rails, demonstrating Emerson and Intel’s collective efforts to drive healthcare innovation and speed time-to-market for original equipment manufacturers.

The intelligent kiosk demonstrates the ease of constructing a compact touch screen kiosk using Emerson Network Power’s latest MITX-ATOM-440 Mini-ITX motherboard. Equipped with the latest-generation Intel® Atom™ processor, the kiosk provides the right performance and price point suitable for interactive kiosk applications. The proof-of-concept demonstrates the motherboard’s wireless networking capabilities, provided by a Mini PCI Express socket that can accommodate a 3G, WiFi or WiMAX module.

Visitors to booth #1638 will also be able to meet with Emerson’s experts and see a variety of processor boards, including:

• COM Express® modules based on Intel® Core™ (COMX-CORE Series) or Intel® Atom™ (COMX-ATOM-420) processors

Recent Partnership and Product Announcements

Emerson Network Power recently announced a collaborative effort with Freescale Semiconductor to deploy Freescale multicore QorIQ processors on modular single-board computers based on the COM Express small form factor.

One of the first companies to announce board-level products powered by the latest generation Intel® Atom™ and Intel® Core™ i7 and Intel® Core™ i5 processor families, Emerson Network Power also recently announced ruggedized variants of the company’s MVME7100 and MVME4100 VME single-board computers. In addition, the company introduced the Centellis™ 2000 ATCA platform with a native AC power input option.
