LITTLETON, MA – July 26, 2011 — Curtiss-Wright Controls Electronic Systems (CWCES), a business group of Curtiss-Wright Controls and a leading system integrator of rugged deployed integrated electronics for the aerospace, defense and industrial markets, has announced the newest addition to its industry-leading Hybricon® family of high performance OpenVPX™ backplanes. The new 024-900-06-CEN1-01 is a 6U, 6-slot OpenVPX (VITA 65/68) / VPX-REDI (VITA 48) / VPX (VITA 46) backplane. It speeds and simplifies the integration of high performance open standards based rugged deployed subsystems based on the popular VPX and OpenVPX open standards.

“Curtiss-Wright Controls Electronic Systems is committed to offering the market’s most comprehensive line of OpenVPX backplanes,” said David Dietz, vice president and general manager of Curtiss-Wright Controls Electronic Systems group. “We are pleased to announce the 024-900-06-CEN1-01, the newest addition to our Hybricon OpenVPX backplanes, the industry’s highest performance 6.25 Gbaud backplanes.”

This high performance backplane supports data rates up to 6.25 Gbaud per VITA 68. It features a 1” pitch (7-slots wide), 5 payload slots, a data switch slot, star fabric topology from payload slots to the switch slot for the data plane. This backplane is compatible with a variety of standard and custom enclosures.

The OpenVPX standard defines a set of system profiles to simplify the selection of interoperable system components.

· Payload Slot Profile: SLT6-PAY-4F2T-10.2.2

– MOD6-PAY4F16U-12.2.4-(1,3,4,5)

· Switch Module Profile: MOD6-SWH-24F-10.4.3-(all)
