Arlington, VA – March 29, 2011 — To support its growing base of government and industry clients, Dr. Kathleen Kiernan, president and founder of Kiernan Group Holdings (www.kiernangroupholdings.com), announced the formation of an Advisory Board. Kiernan Group Holdings is a global consulting firm dedicated to providing integrated solutions to public and private sector leadership, particularly in the areas of law enforcement, security, operations and intelligence.

Kiernan Group Holdings’ Advisory Board is a veritable who’s who of leaders from law enforcement, homeland security, and intelligence. Members include:

David W. Brannan, President, Agile Research & Technology: David W. Brannan is President of Agile Research and Technology, Inc. a company whose mission is to provide robust capabilities that merge technical and analytical solutions for homeland and national security related issues. A former law enforcement officer, Dr. Brannan is also a member of the faculty at the Naval Post Graduate School.

Kathleen L. Harger, Defense Consultant: Ms. Harger has spent nearly 40 years associated with the Defense enterprise, and is now a private consultant for government, industry and academic institutions. Her most recent government assignment was Chief Advocate for Adaptive Initiatives at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA); she has also served on both Army Science Board and Defense Science Board studies, investigating how the Department of Defense can eliminate barriers to solving warfighters’ urgent operational needs.

The Honorable Mary Beth Long, Founder and CEO, Metis Solutions: The first-ever Senate-confirmed female Assistant Secretary of Defense, Mary Beth Long worked directly with Secretaries of Defense Rumsfeld and Gates on the Department’s highest priority issues, and represented the Secretary of Defense at the National Security Council and the White House. She has considerable Congressional testimony experience and a global portfolio of success in bringing solutions to seemingly intractable problem sets.

Dr. Daniel Mabrey, Executive Director, Institute for the Study of Violent Groups: Dr. Daniel Mabrey is currently the executive director of the Institute for the Study of Violent Groups (ISVG), a research institute that analyzes violent extremist and transnational threats worldwide. Dr. Mabrey is also an assistant professor at the Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences at the University of New Haven.

Kathleen M. O’Toole, Founder and President, O’Toole Associates: Kathleen M. O’Toole is founder and president of O’Toole Associates, LLC, an international consulting firm with offices in Boston, Massachusetts and Dublin, Ireland. The firm provides a wide array of services to government and industry clients, particularly in the area of law enforcement. Kathleen, a practicing attorney is studying for her Ph.D at Trinity College in Dublin. She served as Boston Police Commissioner and in Massachusetts Governor Weld’s Cabinet as Secretary of Public Safety.

Constantine A. Pagedas, Executive Vice President, International Technology and Trade Associates, Inc.: Constantine A. Pagedas joined International Technology and Trade Associates, Inc. (ITTA), a Washington-based consulting company, in March 1997. Dr. Pagedas provides strategic advice, government liaison, and regulatory support for a wide range of activities in the areas of technology transfer, export promotion, and foreign investment.

Dr. Richard Ward, Dean, Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences, University of New Haven: Dr. Richard Ward is currently the Dean of the Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences at the University of New Haven. A former New York City detective, he completed his doctorate at the University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Ward has served as a consultant, lecturer, or visiting scholar in more than 50 countries on the subjects of international organized crime, global terrorism, criminal investigation and criminal justice issues.
