JazzStore UWB is an ideal solution for applications within the radar, signal intelligence, electronic warfare and software radio application domains wherever there is a requirement to store, analyze, process and playback large volumes of captured signal samples with instantaneous bandwidths in the GHz range.

“JazzStore UWB is an industry first at two levels: performance and extensive use of open standards for the system implementation. The combination of TEK Microsystems unique wideband signal processing technologies along with their extensive expertise in the high speed data recording application domain has created a system which gives customers the ability to digitally process unprecedented signal and data bandwidths”, said Andy Reddig, president and CTO of TEK Microsystems. “We can now continuously record and playback at up to 2 G samples/sec and we can seamlessly access data from Windows or Linux workstations through a perfectly standard FAT32 file system. It¹s just one more step in making embedded systems easier to use and more productive for developers. The use of open standards within the system also assures the user of a solid future roadmap for this product which can easily bring on board the latest technology advances as they occur.”

The two slot VXS system is built on proven, high performance, open standard FPGA based technology components from TEK Microsystems. The Triton 2 GHz ADC / DAC card provides the wideband analog digitizing front end and real time playback for the JazzStore UWB. Combined with the Callisto multi-FPGA processing engine, the hardware platform provides a highly scalable architecture within which to host the unique TEK Microsystems JazzStore SOC FPGA firmware. Six JazzStore SOC cores provide 12 high performance data pipes directly into a set of up to twelve Fiber Channel RAID disk arrays.

Layered on top of this, the TEK Microsystems JazzStore system architecture enables simple, seamless access to the recorded data using a standard FAT 32 file system.

The JazzStore UWB features:

– Continuous recording / playback at rates up to 2 G Samples per second (8 bit samples) or 1.6 G Samples per second (10 bit samples)

– Sample accurate trigger modes of operation available to support record and playback at 2 G Samples (10 bits) per second with up to 80% duty

cycle

– FAT 32 based filing system providing seamless access to recorded data from standard Linux or WINDOWs workstation environments
