He will also share lessons learned at Freescale in creating a multicore SoC from the ground up – one that tightly aligns with the needs of embedded system developers.
In his current role at Freescale, Mothersole is responsible for the NCSG’s technology strategy and leading-edge systems and intellectual property development. During his 25 years at Motorola’s Semiconductor Products Sector, now Freescale, Mothersole served in a variety of technical and executive roles, including VP of architecture and systems platforms, founder and general manager of the PowerPC products division and director of engineering for the microprocessor products group. He holds 23 patents in the fields of system architecture and microprocessor implementation.
