NEWTON, MA – August 8, 2005 – Global Technology Conferences today announced that Dave Mothersole, CTO and Director of Advanced Technology Development for Freescale Semiconductor’s Networking and Computing Systems Group (NCSG) will deliver a keynote address at GSPx 2005. Freescale Semiconductor is also a sponsor of the signal processing conference and expo. GSPx will take place October 24-27 at the Santa Clara Convention Center.

“Mothersole will address the industry “buzz” around multicore and separate the reality from the hype,” said Dr. Amnon Aliphas, GSPx conference chair. “Attendees at GSPx will learn how multicore designs can deliver an optimal ratio of performance, power and price for today’s demanding applications.”

In his keynote address, “Signal Processing Catches the Multicore Wave: Which Architecture is Right for Your Application?” Mothersole will explore the relevance and impact of multicore processor devices on the signal processing industry. Mothersole will also delve into SoC design requirements and methodologies involved in developing multicore processes. He will also share lessons learned at Freescale in creating a multicore SoC from the ground up – one that tightly aligns with the needs of embedded system developers.
