Phoenix, AZ and West Lafayette, IN, August 18, 2008 — DDC-I, a leading supplier of development tools for safety-critical applications, and Arxan Defense Systems Inc., a leading anti-tamper systems integrator, together announce that they have joined forces to provide an advanced anti-tampering solution for federal customers. Arxan will provide application hardening solutions based on its EnforcIT platform for code developed and compiled using DDC-I’s Eclipse-based OpenArbor tools. This hardened solution will enable developers to protect code bases against tampering, reverse engineering, piracy and other attacks.
“DDC-I has provided best-in-class software development tools for safety-critical military and aerospace defense applications for two decades,” said Bob Morris, chairman and CEO of DDC-I. “The addition of Arxan’s best-of-breed application hardening solutions will make our tools even more attractive to developers who are required to deliver tamper-resistant code per CPI (Critical Program Information) anti-tamper mandates.”
Arxan’s advanced anti-tamper platform comprises the EnforcIT® family of products and professional services. The EnforcIT family, which includes software and hardware protection products, provides a complete end-to-end anti-tamper solution based on Arxan’s patented Guard™ technology. Arxan supports a variety of software configurations, including desktop and embedded software written in both native (C++) and managed (.NET and java) languages.
“Protecting our nation’s most vital software and hardware assets from tampering and code lifting is an essential step toward preserving national security and intellectual property,” said Rich Earley, vice chairman and CEO of Arxan Defense Systems. “Arxan is pleased to empower developers with strong fortification capability for DDC-I’s mission critical software development tools and provide a complete anti-tamper solution for the OpenArbor platform.”
OpenArbor is a mixed-language, object-oriented IDE for developing and deploying real-time, safety-critical applications. The core environment combines optimizing compilers and libraries for C and Embedded C++ with the SCORE mixed-language debugger, which features an intuitive multi-window GUI, project management support, and automated build/make utilities. OpenArbor provides a separate Eclipse plug-in for Ada development, which features an optimizing Ada compiler and run-time environment optimized for safety-critical projects.
