DAYTON, OH – February 3, 2011 — Curtiss-Wright Controls Electronic Systems, a business group of Curtiss-Wright Controls and the developer of the Physical Layer Switch (PLS), has announced the availability of its new RT11000 48-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) card designed for use with its industry-leading GLX4000 and SLX4000 physical layer switches. Designed to maximize system switching flexibility, the high port-count RT11000 enables users to economically scale their 10 GbE performance as their requirements change. The RT11000 speeds and simplifies the integration of high-speed Ethernet networking resources into the high density GLX/SLX platforms. The RT11000 is designed for use in a wide variety of demanding switch environments including interoperability labs, military and aerospace test labs, network security, data centers and IT/Enterprise.
“The RT11000 enhances our industry leading physical layer switch capabilities. The compact packaging and high number of 10 GbE ports make the RT11000 a very economical choice for switching environments,” said David Dietz, vice president and general manager of Curtiss-Wright Controls Electronic Systems group.
The RT11000 supports 48 bi-directional ports with hot-pluggable SFP+ transceivers and operates at 10 GbE Ethernet data rates. The port card enables any input to be connected to any output or to multiple outputs.

About the GLX4000 and SLX4000 Switches
The GLX/SLX non-blocking, multi-protocol physical layer switches enable any digital signal input, up to 10 Gb/s, to connect to any output. The GLX/SLX provides users the ability to control network configurations while saving set-up time, limit network errors, and reduce cost. The modular design of the GLX/SLX port cards gives users unmatched flexibility. In addition to 10 GbE Ethernet, the GLX/SLX series port cards support a wide range of serial protocols including:
· 1, 2, 4, 8 and 10 Gb/s Fibre Channel
· 100/1000 Ethernet (RJ45 SFP or Optical SFP)
· FDDI
· SONET/SDH OC-3/OC-12/OC-48
· HD and SDI video
· FICON/ESCON
· iSCSI
· InfiniBand
· 1, 2, 2.5 Serial FPDP (Vita 17.1)
All GLX/SLX port cards are rigorously tested to maintain the highest level of signal integrity within the industry.
