Moorestown, NJ, July 2006 — Gedae, Inc. has released Gedae 5.0, the newest version of its Model Driven Development (MDD) environment, incorporating several new features that significantly increase the productivity and usability of the development environment and quality of the automatically implemented application. Gedae 5.0 marks the completion of the technology base in support of complex real time sensor processing applications. Gedae has generated applications that stretch the limits of complexity of sensor processing systems. Gedae 5.0’s usability enhancements include standard support for video and audio on Windows and Linux systems and fast entry for boxes and data items. Gedae has also added support for targeting FPGAs and heterogeneous systems with DSPs and FPGAs.

Deployed Application Enhancements:

Gedae-MDD’s enhanced application export creates applications bootable from EEPROM without change.

Gedae generates compressed applications that boot very fast. The largest, most complex applications boot in a few seconds.

Building a deployable version of the application is as easy as pushing a button. The functional behavior of the deployed application is guaranteed to be identical to the functional behavior in the host development environment.

Usability Enhancements:

An enhanced flow graph editor enables the addition of all graph components in a single step. To speed up graph creation, Gedae searches its libraries based on the data types of selected data items and automatically connects the new component from the library to the selected data items. Selected groups of primitives can be easily converted to a sub graph, saving significant development time.

Example graphs now include audio, communications, image, sonar, and radar processing. Gedae-MDD provides development capabilities for every type of sensor system.

With standard support for audio and video input and output on Windows and Linux systems, developers can implement real time sensor systems within minutes of installation. Developers’ focus can be on the sensor processing technology being developed rather external interfaces and hardware/software integration.

FPGA Support:

Gedae Signal Flow Graph (Gedae-SFG) language feature allows Gedae graphs to be targeted to FPGAs.

Gedae provides full hardware/software integration for heterogeneous systems with FPGAs and processors.

Gedae 5.0 includes a board support package for Mercury’s MCP3 system with 2 channels of 80 MHz ADC, a Xilinx Virtex II Pro FPGA, Synplicity synthesis tools and a 1 GHz Altivec 7447 processor.
