LONG BEACH, CA – January 16, 2006 – BittWare, Inc. announced today at the Bus & Board Conference that they have teamed up with Mercury Computer Systems through a licensing agreement enabling BittWare to utilize Mercury Computer Systems’ Serial RapidIO endpoint on their B2-AMC (B2AM) board. Both companies have committed to long term support of the Serial RapidIO AMC solution. The B2AM, designed by BittWare, combines Analog Devices TigerSHARC® with the superior logic density of Altera’s Stratix™ II FPGA and the benefits of AdvancedMC™. This quad ADSP-TS201 AMC board supports Universal Baseband Processing for any wireless application including WiMAX, Software Defined Radio, and Super 3G, bringing BittWare’s expertise in SHARC-based designs to a new platform. BittWare’s ATLANTiS™ architecture, implemented in the on-board Stratix II, facilitates off-board I/O and provides communications routing and processing. Mercury’s Serial RapidIO IP core is utilized within ATLANTiS, providing customers with a bridge enabling the transfer of Serial RapidIO data to and from the board.
“We believe that the combination of BittWare’s B2AM with Mercury’s Serial RapidIO endpoint provides a powerful and flexible solution for baseband processing applications,” stated Darren Taylor, VP of Sales & Marketing at BittWare.
About BittWare’s B2-AMC
A full-height, single wide AMC, the B2AM is ideal for use in AdvancedTCA®, MicroTCA, or custom systems and is completely hot-swappable. Using the superscalar architecture of the ADSP-TS201 TigerSHARC DSPs, the B2AM provides an unprecedented 14.4 GFLOPs and 57.5 GOPS of processing power. A large Altera Stratix II FPGA implements BittWare’s ATLANTiS architecture, seamlessly integrating the DSP processing power with your switch fabric of choice: Serial RapidIO®, PCI Express™, Advanced Switching Interconnect (ASI), GigE, or XAUI™ (10 GigE). In addition to the multiprocessor scalability of the TigerSHARC, the board features a variety of front and back panel I/O interfaces, an IPMI system management interface, and system synchronization via AMC system clocks.
B2-AMC Availability and Pricing
Volume shipments will begin in Q1 of 2006 with OEM quantities priced at $4,995.
