Atego debuts in the 2010 ‘Software 500’ as 7th fastest growing software company worldwide |
San Diego, USA and Cheltenham, UK – 19th October 2010. Atego, the leading independent supplier of industrial-grade, collaborative development tools for engineering complex, mission- and safety-critical architectures, systems, software and hardware, has entered Software Magazine’s 2010 Software 500 listing for the first time as the 7th fastest growing software company worldwide with revenue growth of 138.2%. Atego is ranked at #361 in the 2010 Software 500.
“Being recognized by Software Magazine’s prestigious Software 500 as the 7th fastest growing software company worldwide is vindication of our decision to accelerate our growth strategy through a combination of acquisitions, mergers and organic growth,” said James B. Gambrell, Chairman of Atego. “It is also positive proof that our Work as One, whole product strategy, providing system engineers and enterprise architects across a broad range of industries with a comprehensive range of development solutions and services, has struck a chord in the market.”
Now in its 28th year, the 2010 Software 500 results also show that revenue in the worldwide software and services industry was a healthy $491.7 billion.
The Software 500 is a revenue-based ranking of the world’s largest software and services suppliers targeting medium to large enterprises, their IT professionals, software developers and business managers involved in software and services purchasing. The ranking is based on total worldwide software and services revenue for 2009. This includes revenues from software licenses, maintenance and support, training and software-related services and consulting. Suppliers are not ranked on their total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business, such as hardware. The financial information was gathered by a survey prepared by King Content Co. as well as from public documents.
“The Software 500 helps CIOs, senior IT managers and IT staff research to create a short list of business partners,” said John P. Desmond, editor of Software Magazine and Softwaremag.com. “It is a quick reference of vendor viability. And the online version, posted at www.Softwaremag.com, is searchable by category, making it what we call the online catalog to enterprise software.”
