FREMONT, California Sept 19, 2011 – Elma Bustronic Corporation, an industry leading designer and manufacturer of high performance backplanes now offers a new 3U 9-slot OpenVPX backplane with optional Ethernet control plane.
Designed to VITA 65 design principles, the 9-slot OpenVPX backplane features a centralized routing topology. The profile number is BKP3-CEN09-15.2.17-1, with data rate speeds to 3.125 per channel. The switch slot is connected to slots 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. Slots 1-3 are also connected on the data plane. Contiguous groups of slots can have their maskable reset pin joined via jumpers within a backplane header.
The 9-slot backplane can have an optional Ethernet expansion plane for out-of-band communication. The expansion plane signals go across slots 5-8. A BKP3-CEN09-15.2.17-3 profile version is also available. It has the same configuration, but offers speeds of up to 6.25 Gb/s. In order to keep costs low, Elma Bustronic was able to use creative routing techniques to maintain superior signal performance for high speeds using standard FR-4 PCB material.
The lead-time is 2-4 weeks ARO.
