The embedded systems event, The Embedded Masterclass, set to take place on the 3rd May, looks set to be another success. Engineers from technology companies across the UK have registered to attend and many leading embedded technology vendors have agreed to exhibit and present their latest products. This event is becoming increasingly popular as an important networking opportunity for hi-tech design engineers and embedded systems software developers.

“The announcement of the Embedded Masterclass was warmly received by engineers and vendors alike,” said Richard Blackburn of Energi, the event organiser. “In many ways, the Embedded Masterclass is a low key and relaxed way for engineers to explore potential new technologies for their next project. The focus this year is on ‘technologies that can accelerate development’, something most embedded engineers would identify as an increasingly important issue.”

Engineers from major technology companies and educational establishments have registered to attend, with only a few places left remaining for the agenda of technical presentations. The presentations will include such topics as the fast development of graphical user interfaces (GUI’s), using ‘Middleware’ to accelerate the development of communication systems, software re-use and tools for the management of software variations and using debug tools to enhance system performance.

“For SDC, this event is a very good fit,” said Stuart Parker, Managing Director of SDC Systems. “We specialise in providing the tools and software that enable developers of hi-tech systems to stay ahead of the competition. We have several exciting new technologies and the Embedded Masterclass is an ideal forum in which we can introduce these technologies to UK engineers. It’s shaping up to be a great event and we are very much looking forward to it.”

As well as embedded software and development tools, this years Embedded Masterclass will see the introduction of local contract electronics manufacturer Barric and technology enclosure manufacturer Hitec.

“Both of these companies bring a great deal of expertise to embedded systems developers,” said Richard Blackburn. “Barric will be available to discuss the challenges of manufacturing highly complex and dense electronics, as well as the issue of lead-free manufacturing and Hitec will be exhibiting recent enclosure designs and be available to discuss issues that relate to the manufacture of metalwork for hi-tech systems.”

The event is free to embedded engineers and managers working within technology companies. The companies sponsoring the event and exhibiting include Arcom, XJTAG, SDC Systems, Barric, Hitec, Enea, Lauterbach and Software Acumen.
