The app available in the iTunes App Store, designed for both iPhone and iPad has shot to the top for free industry magazine apps with more than 1,000 downloads in the first three weeks. With an estimated 15,000,000,000 devices in the world soon, OpenSystems Media is helping every designer working on one of them–this is where the next decade of embedded computing is going.

The iPad app, featuring the full edition of Embedded Computing Design without limitations, is fast and easy to install and you can begin reading the current issue in minutes. It features a crisp, clear magazine-reading experience with easy-to-read article that can be read in either landscape or portrait modes and even enlarge any page further with a two-finger swipe. Additionally, you can go to the table of contents and click on an article for direct access. Another key feature is if you are reading an article and exit the app, it takes you back to the same location next time you open Embedded Computing Design magazine. An optional push notification is available for when new issues become available and issues are savable and searchable. The app also has the same features on the iPhone, however, you must enlarge each page for comfortable viewing.

Patrick Hopper, OpenSystems Media, Publisher, said, “The new app also allows us to integrate this platform with our partners in creating custom apps for them with customized editorial.” He continues, “The app is a continuation of our industry leading social media efforts and shows our partners and the engineering community that OpenSystems is continuing to lead with innovative ways to deliver fresh content.”

According to Warren Webb, OpenSystems Media, Embedded Computing Design Editorial Director, “I highly recommend the new Embedded Computing Design app for the iPad and iPhone for quick and convenient access to the latest technical articles covering silicon, software, trends, and strategies.” He added, “Providing an app such as this shows our audience and advertisers that we are paying attention to their needs. OpenSystems has to adapt to the market and generate quality content across as many channels as possible.”
