The OPC Foundation is an international nonprofit standards organization dedicated to providing specifications, technology, certification and process to facilitate multivendor multiplatform secure reliable interoperability in industrial automation and also providing information integration between industrial automation and other domains. The OPC Foundation technology portfolio includes specifications and technology called OPC Unified Architecture (OPC UA), that has been successfully deployed on a variety of embedded devices, including several vendors that have deployed the technology on a chip. OPC Foundation is made up of over 450+ members, and the OPC Foundation Board of Directors is comprised of a number of major automation players in industrial automation inclusive of Rockwell, Siemens, Emerson, Honeywell and Yokogawa.
