FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz., March 5, 2012 — OpenSystems Media (OSM), LLC, today announced that it has renamed its magazine VME and Critical Systems to VITA Technologies. The expanding scope of the VITA Standards Organization to include small form factor boards, reliability guidance, optical interconnects, serial fabrics, and much more to accommodate the expanding needs of critical embedded systems dictated a change in title to encompass these activities.
VITA Technologies will continue to be the premier publication dedicated to VITA activities and its members. VITA Technologies will include VITA news and standards updates, plus in-depth analysis of the technologies, products, and trends impacting the industry.
“The name change reflects our focused editorial direction and provides our readers worldwide with editorial content for VITA Technologies with increased analysis of the technologies impacting design decisions for critical embedded systems,” said Jerry Gipper, VITA Technologies, Editorial Director, OpenSystems Media. “With over 80 standards activities in various phases ranging from concept to completion, there is a lot of information that needs to be available to engineers and VITA Technologies is the place to get that information.”
In addition to the print issues of VITA Technologies are four VITA Technologies E-letters that are published each year with contributed articles focused on designing with VITA technologies such as VME, VXS, VPX, PMC, XMC, FMC, and more.
Topping this off is the introduction of a new micro-site that compliments VITA Technologies. The revised site will provide instant on-line access to the content found in the print and E-letters plus timely commentary from the editor on breaking news in the industry.
The first edition of VITA Technologies magazine will be shipped on March 6, 2012 with the web at www.vita-technologies.com going live at the same time.
