Avionics Interface Technologies (AIT) has released a MIL-STD-1760E/HS1760 test suite for applications ranging from analyzers and simulators to verification and validation tools. The test suite is built on AIT’s APG-HS1760 Simulyzer™ technology combined with the FC-AE-1553 Application Programmer’s Interface (API), it is a complete HS1760 Protocol test suite as profiled under AS5653. The test suite has been demonstrated to the SAE working group for HS1760 and is currently under review as the test standard by SAE.

AIT’s Simulyzer™ hardware technology enables the product to simulate HS1760 Network Controller (NC) and Network Terminal (NT) functions while simultaneously monitoring on the same hardware. It supports all of the standard FC-AE-1553 frame formats for command, control, and other data communications, as profiled in AS5653.

All of AIT’s HS1760 products include full-function device driver software and APIs for the most popular operating systems, as well as a comprehensive set of source code examples. The hardware utilizes multiple embedded processors with large onboard RAM. A onboard PowerPC handles time-critical protocol routines, minimizing host CPU interaction, enabling autonomous operation and minimizing host system load for test and simulation applications. An optional test suite of software scripts is available to perform a comprehensive AS5653 protocol compliance verification of NC’s and NT’s, and FC-AE switches include support for Fast Fabric Initialization (FFI) extended link services.

AIT’s fcXplorer software application provides a Graphical User Interface (GUI) bus analyzer

fcXplorer provides an intuitive and easy to use interface which allows user’s to quickly

recognize protocol errors, network configuration problems, and potential network performance issues. Live data captures of time-stamped network traffic provides displays of advanced network statistics and detailed decoded views of the network traffic, including the decoding of the FC-AE-1553 specific fields of captured frames. Comprehensive filtering, searching, and sorting functions are also provided.

Avionics Interface Technologies is a leading supplier of avionics bus interface circuits, modules, and a wide array of simulation and analyzer products. The company has supported all major DOD top tier suppliers as well as the Air Force, Navy, Army, Marines, and NASA directly. Their technically superior products offer both custom and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) user software and a flexible hardware architecture based on the use of FPGAs with embedded Power PC Processors for onboard specific application programming. AIT has four office locations in the US, it is headquartered in Omaha, NE, with design and production based in Dayton, Ohio, near Wright Patterson AFB. AIT uses Technical Manufacture Representatives in North America and distributors worldwide to provide the best possible local support. AIT is a private company led by a US citizen based Board of Directors allowing for execution of sensitive and/or classified ITAR program development.
