Developed in collaboration with several leading avionics system manufacturers and FAA Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs), CoreAVI’s graphics driver certification package will initially support the temperature-screened version of the AMD Radeon™ E4690 discrete graphics processor, with a product roadmap that includes several next-generation SoC and discrete graphics components. A product demonstration of the turnkey E4690 graphics solution for avionics platforms will be on display in booth C14 at the Avionics and Defense Electronics Europe conference and trade show in Munich, Germany, March 21-22, 2012.

CoreAVI recently announced the 25th avionics design win for its temperature-screened AMD Radeon™ E4690 GPU. CoreAVI’s unique turnkey solution for mil-aero graphics components is the result of several years of close collaboration with AMD. In order to completely address mil-aero program requirements, CoreAVI’s product offering also includes 20-year component availability, drivers for leading real-time operating systems from vendors such as Wind River, Green Hills, and DDC-I, and now, a complete DO-178C / EUROCAE ED-12C driver and certification package.

“As DO-178C was just released in January 2012, CoreAVI’s OpenGL driver certification package will be one of the first DO-178C/ED-12C compliant software packages available in the industry” said Marty Gasiorowski, DER and President of Worldwide Certification Services.

“CoreAVI is committed to the development of products and services that enable our avionics customers to reduce design and development efforts and lower overall program costs,” said Lee Melatti, CEO of CoreAVI. “That commitment includes enabling the deployment of AMD graphics into mil-aero platforms through temperature screening, the development of drivers for real-time operating systems, and DO-178C certification support. The E4690 represents the beginning of our product offering with additional announcements expected over the coming months.”

Core Avionics and Industrial LLC (CoreAVI), a Channel One company, provides “program ready” embedded graphics and video processors to mil-aero and high reliability embedded systems manufacturers. A worldwide provider of AMD graphics processors and APU products, CoreAVI provides 20+ year supply management, temperature-screened versions of the AMD Radeon™ E4690 graphics processor and embedded graphics drivers to enable AMD graphics support for real time operating systems. Additionally, CoreAVI provides program support with DO-254 and DO-178B/C (up to Design Assurance Level A) certification evidence for safety critical environments.
