With tight budgets, government agencies are being forced to accomplish their missions with far less than they have in the past. Agencies are turning to technology to drive operational efficiency to ensure the services they provide for constituents continue, despite hiring freezes and budget cuts. GovMission was created to take an in-depth look at the new technologies that are helping to make government agencies more effective and efficient, while enabling them to achieve their missions.

“In addition to discussing the technologies empowering today’s government, we also will look at the way the federal government acquires these technologies,” said Timothy Coffin, Vice President, iGATE Patni Public Sector. “GovMission will be a forum to analyze the current government contracting models that make high tech products and services available to agencies.”

GovMission features the thoughts and ideas of the iGATE Public Sector team, which has over 80 years combined experience geared to help government support its mission. The blog also features a roundtable, where questions about the latest trends in technology and government contracting are answered by the iGATE Public Sector team. GovMission will be a place to openly discuss today’s government, its challenges, the innovations enabling agencies to overcome these challenges and the ways those innovations are acquired and implemented.
