Galleon Embedded Computing Serial FPDP Recorder Katy, TX, April 20th, 2012: Galleon Embedded Computing LLC (www.galleonec.com) is now shipping rugged quad channel Serial FPDP data recorders. Specifically targeted at rugged airborne applications such as UAVs and ground vehicles, the Galleon XSR-sFPDP-REC offers superior performance in a very small rugged enclosure measuring only 156x220x113 mm.

The Ultra Small external dimension allows the Rugged Serial FPDP Data Recorder to be deployed in applications where size, weight, power and cost are critical for success.

The Galleon Rugged sFPDP Data Recorder can be supplied with quad MIL-38999 optical interfaces utilizing expanded beam technology for superior flexibility and reliability in the field. An air cooled version with standard Duplex LC connectors is also available to support existing infrastructure. Up to 2.5TB MIL grade SLC FLASH or 4TB industrial grade MLC FLASH storage can be installed in the field swappable disk carrier. For high performance applications, the sFPDP Recorder can be deployed with the second generation Intel® CoreTM-i7 Quad Core processor family.

The unit is tested according to MIL-STD-810, and is offered in rugged conduction cooled versions, supporting operating temperatures from -40°C to +75°C and high vibration environments. Rugged air cooled and fan-less natural convection cooled versions are also offered. MIL-STD-461F certified wide input power front ends are available for either 12/24/28V DC applications (10-36V DC wide input) or 48V DC (36-72V DC wide input) operation.
