(Painesville, Ohio – May 14, 2012) Hercules Ruggedized Interconnect System Exemplifies Superb Electrical Signal Integrity. Meritec’s HERCULES Connector System exceeded expectations, while under the most stringent conditions.
A 1 meter, 28 Awg, MIL-DTL-38999 Size 23 Meritec Hercules plug cable assembly was mated with the compatible MIL-DTL-38999 Size 23 Meritec Hercules flange mount board receptacle with press-fit tails. The tested cable assembly was well within the InfiniBand 10Gbps (QDR) insertion loss specification. The two pairs of connectors have a total of -1.4dB of loss at 5 GHz, or -0.7 dB of loss for a single mated cable plug and board receptacle. The cable assembly and board receptacle setup also exhibited very good return loss of less then -10dB up to 7GHz.
Hercules sizes 9, 17 & 23 are now complete and work has begun on expanding the Hercules product line into other MIL-DTL-38999 sizes.
