Vector Software, the leading provider of dynamic software testing solutions for embedded systems, announced today support for Wind River® VxWorks® Cert Platform real-time operating system (RTOS).
The VxWorks Cert Platform provides a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solution for delivering safety-critical applications and is certified to the highest levels of RTCA DO-178, EUROCAE ED-12, revisions B and C (“Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification”), and IEC 61508 (Functional Safety of Electrical/Electronic/Programmable Electronic Safety-related Systems [E/E/PE]) on a wide variety of architectures including Intel, PowerPC and ARM.
VectorCAST/RSP (Run-time Support Package) is the module in the VectorCAST suite that supports unit and integration testing of source code modules on an embedded target. VectorCAST/RSP already supports both the VxWorks General Purpose Platform and VxWorks 653 Platform, Wind River’s stringent Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) foundation.
“Vector Software’s integration with VxWorks Cert Platform further extends VectorCAST’s support for the comprehensive capabilities of the Wind River Workbench development environment,” commented Joe Wlad, senior director of product management at Wind River. “This latest VectorCAST integration enables Vector Software and Wind River customers to leverage the broad range of capabilities built into both of our solutions.”
“For over 14 years, Vector Software has supported the Wind River development environment,” said William McCaffrey, Vector Software Chief Operating Officer. “This latest integration within the VxWorks product line underscores our commitment to providing our customers with best-in-class tools for developing and validating safety-critical applications.”
