Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions, a business group of Curtiss-Wright Controls, has announced the expanded capability of its COTS-based solutions for defense and aerospace system designers seeking reliable, cost-effective Cross Domain Guard embedded security for classified information on rugged deployed systems. Curtiss-Wright’s new Cross Domain Solutions include pre-tested and validated support for Radiant Mercury™ on Curtiss-Wright’s rugged VPX3-1257 3U OpenVPX™ single board computer (SBC), provided under its new System Ready Application (SRA) initiative. Radiant Mercury™, an UCDMO-listed CDS-T Cross Domain Guard software solution, was developed by the US Navy and is serviced by Lockheed Martin for industry use. It enables the control and filtering of data transferred between different security domains. Without adding additional costs, Curtiss-Wright’s pre-verified SRA solutions remove integration and interoperability design risk from the process of integrating new application functionality into embedded systems. The availability of pre-qualified and validated SRAs, such as Cross Domain Solutions, for use with specific Curtiss-Wright COTS modules will significantly speed the integration of new capabilities into embedded systems since test and verification have already been performed.
A Radiant Mercury™/VPX3-1257 module provides the capability to write-encrypt-filter-record and store information in a Multi-Level Security environment. It will enable system integrators to quickly and cost-effectively integrate Cross Domain-based Information Assurance (IA) services on all types of deployed military platforms. In addition to SWaP-optimized slot module-based Cross Domain Solutions that can be integrated into open-standards chassis, Curtiss-Wright’s Radiant Mercury™-enabled hardware will also be available integrated into standalone fully integrated subsystems offered by partner companies.
“Radiant Mercury™ is a recognized industry leading software solution for enabling sensitive information to be shared during critical missions,” said Lynn Bamford, senior vice president and general manager of Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions. “When this pre-tested and validated Cross Domain guard filtering software package is deployed on a rugged VPX3-1257 COTS module, it enables our customers to cost-effectively implement Multi Level Security services in a space constrained environment, in open-standard chassis or in standalone box solutions for deployed platforms.”
About Radiant Mercury™
Radiant Mercury™ incorporates a suite of high-assurance, trusted technologies that “guard” classified and sensitive data from unauthorized access while allowing government intelligence agencies to transfer data among groups operating at various security levels. Radiant Mercury™ can process hundreds of data formats and supports simultaneous data flows to hundreds of channels, interfaces with most major C4ISR systems, and supports standard transport, network, and data link protocols. It also ensures that data and communications sent from one network domain to another will undergo extremely high levels of scrutiny to protect against the compromise of critical information.
Introducing the System Ready Application
Curtiss-Wright’s new SRAs provide system integrators with cost-effective proven technologies that enable them to quickly and easily enhance their embedded systems’ capabilities. By taking the design risk out of adding new applications to both new and existing systems, pre-verified SRAs significantly reduce the upfront costs and development schedule.
System Ready Application Advantages:
• Complete hardware (from Curtiss-Wright) and software solution (from select SRA Partner) ready to integrate in to the system
• Coordination between Curtiss-Wright and SRA software partner facilitated by Curtiss-Wright Sales team to ensure seamless integration process
• Pre-tested and validated as an integrated solution
• Minimizes design risk
• Reduces cost and schedule
• Solution level “Getting Started Guide” with demonstration software to get you running fast
With a wide range of hardware options, industry leading software support and wide range of chassis and integrated systems, Curtiss-Wright is able to offer SRAs for integration in to existing systems or packaged in a turnkey rugged deployable system.
