CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Nov. 24, 2008 – Curtiss-Wright Controls Inc. today named Senior Vice President Tom Quinly president, succeeding David C. Adams as head of the motion control segment of Curtiss-Wright Corp. The change, which follows Adams’ appointment to the newly created position of co-chief operating officer of Curtiss-Wright Corp., is effective immediately.

Quinly, with over 25 years in the defense, aerospace and commercial sectors, joined Curtiss-Wright Controls in 2004 with the acquisition of Dy4, and soon after became president of the company’s Embedded Computing unit. During the past four years, Quinly has been responsible for successfully integrating previous acquisitions and growing Embedded Computing through additional acquisitions, including Pentland Systems and VMETRO, both announced in 2008.

“Tom’s unique combination of senior management experience, leadership ability, and technical expertise has enabled him to coalesce his operating team around strategic initiatives that have led to consistently strong operating results and a position of undisputed market leadership for Embedded Computing,” said Adams, who will continue to oversee Curtiss-Wright Controls in his new role. “We are confident his knowledge, resourcefulness and enthusiasm will help bring Curtiss-Wright Controls to new levels of excellence.”

“I’m proud of the work the Embedded Computing group has done in creating a cohesive brand focused on providing embedded computing solutions to the defense and aerospace marketplace,” Quinly said. “I look forward to working closely with Dave and everyone at Curtiss-Wright Controls to fulfill our company’s tremendous potential.”

Quinly holds a B.S. degree in Industrial Technology from Utah State University and an MBA from St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas. He completed the Harvard Business School’s General Managers Program in 2001.
