Blandford, Dorset- May 29, 2007 – Telesoft will deliver a complete range of varying specification PCIe cards over the coming months, starting with a high performance low profile card which can be deployed in virtually any PCIe chassis on the market today. As with all Telesoft MPAC boards the MPAC PCIe fully supports the entire range of Telesoft telephony stacks, protocols and application interfaces. As a result this provides a broad base of protocol support and the ability for existing and new customers to quickly and easily integrate this new form factor.

Intelligent design and utilization of latest generation chipsets from leading suppliers means that the MPAC PCIe can match the capacity of the existing PCI and cPCI form factor cards, in a quarter of the footprint. The MPAC PCIe low profile form factor is the smallest available, being half the height and length of a traditional PCI card. Supplied as a single lane device, it can be deployed in any PCIe base specification 1.1 compliant slots on the market today; including full length, half length and low profile slots.

The first cards to be commercially available will include a 6 E1/T1 telephony board, and a combined 4 E1/T1 plus Gb Ethernet board for converged network deployments. Support for a wide range of SS7 telephony protocols is augmented by the addition of IP based protocols such as SIGTRAN, RTP, CESoPSN and SIP. This is further enhanced with features such as H.324m termination and de-multiplexing allowing video and voice to be streamed over RTP. The MPAC PCIe board is also capable of operating in terminating and fully non-intrusive monitoring mode, making it highly suitable for surveillance, Lawful Interception and OSS activities.

Telesoft intends to introduce these new cards at an extremely competitive price/ performance level, making it an attractive platform for System Integrators, Application Developers, OEMs and TEMs. The base card can be deployed with low level MTP2 APIs, or include many higher layer application interfaces such as TCAP, MAP, CAMEL, ISUP, BICC and many others. With the Gb Ethernet option selected the MPAC PCIe provides further support for IP based telephony protocols such as SIGTRAN and also the ability to stream voice and video over RTP or CESoPSN, making it a highly flexible converged network platform.

Gary Barter, product manager for Telesoft’s MPAC telephony boards explained, “Telesoft has a long history of producing high capacity and highly flexible telephony add-in cards over many years, this has included ISA, PCI and cPCI, so it is a logical progression for us to adopt this new expansion bus architecture.”

“Leading chassis vendors are already producing PC and server based equipment with limited PCI expansion capacity and in many cases no PCI slots at all and this process is certainly accelerating. Therefore it is very important to our existing and new customers, that Telesoft offers a powerful and cost effective PCIe solution to enable the continued deployment of existing applications and the rapid development of new solutions based on this new architecture.”

“The MPAC PCIe is incredibly powerful given its small form factor and provides developers with the opportunity to develop SS7 and IP based solutions in both terminating and non-intrusive monitoring modes. I am confident that users will be as delighted as I am with this latest generation offering from Telesoft.”
