Rugged EW Wideband DRFM, ADC/DAC Transceiver and FPGA Processing Solutions Displayed by Curtiss-Wright at AOC 2015 |
AOC International Symposium (Booth #134), Washington, D.C. – Curtiss-Wright Corporation today announced that its Defense Solutions division will display its latest industry leading commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions designed for use in demanding EW and SIGINT C4ISR defense and aerospace applications at the 52nd Annual AOC International Symposium and Convention. At AOC, Curtiss-Wright will highlight open architecture solutions for EW and sensor processing, including its extensive family of Xilinx® Virtex®-7 FPGA-based high performance ADC/DAC VPX modules. In-booth demonstrations will present the CHAMP-WB-DRFM Wideband Quick Start Kit (QSK) and the 2-4GSPS ADC/DAC VPX3-530 module in a rugged MPMC-9321 chassis.
In-Booth Demos:
CHAMP-WB-DRFM Wideband Quick Start Kit (QSK): This demo will feature the QSK for Curtiss-Wright’s CHAMP-WB-DRFM Wideband module. It will include the sampling and generating of Radar and QPSK patterns at 12 GS/s. The QSK system enables the capture, generation, loopback, analysis and display of signals up to 6 GHz.
2-4GSPS ADC/DAC VPX3-530 Module in a Rugged MPMC-9321 Chassis: The VPX3-530 FPGA Module is a 2-4GSPS ADC/DAC transceiver card that features a Virtex-7 FPGA to deliver high analog I/O channel density, multi-GSPS speed and multi-board synchronization in a small rugged form factor. This demo will show the VPX3-530 capturing signals, with results displayed in the time or frequency domain. The module’s DRFM capabilities will be demonstrated by generating a CHIRP waveform from a DAC output, capturing the chirp, delaying it by a user-programmable delay period, and then capturing the delayed waveform. The VPX3-530 works with the DRS Technologies SI-9170A/CC Microwave Tuner, a compact 3U VPX module that converts RF input signals in the 70 MHz to 18.25 GHz range to an IF signal. The modules are housed in a MPMC-932x Mission Computer that integrates wide bandwidth ADCs and DACs, FPGA-based signal processing, and an Intel® Core™i7 SBC.
