Held in Austin, TX on June 7th and 8th, 2016, Embedded TechCon is co-located with the Design Automation Conference (DAC). Embedded TechCon includes 20 classes taught by embedded industry experts and seasoned technical trainers from high-tech leaders, including AMD, Dell, Renesas, Imperas Software, ARM, IBM, the HSA Foundation, Khronos Group, Avnet, and more.

“We are very excited by the program for this year’s Embedded TechCon. We are continuing the trend of “Everything practical, nothing theoretical,” says Rich Nass Executive Vice President of OpenSystems Media and Co-Chair of this year’s conference, and also former chair of the Embedded Systems Conference. “Attendees can take what they learn in the classes, including the hardware and software that they’ll receive as part of their registration, and immediately begin work on their own designs.”

“Embedded TechCon 2016 consists of an engaging group of sessions and speakers designed to guide engineers through their development lifecycle, be they hardware, software, or systems designers,” says Brandon Lewis, Technology Editor of Embedded Computing Design and Co-Chair of Embedded TechCon 2016. “The program was architected to jumpstart developers still in search of technology solutions, but also to address the challenges of more advanced engineers, such as those working with heterogeneous processor architectures. A good example is the Day Two Keynote by Rhonda Dirvin of ARM, in which she will discuss the merits of TrustZone for building secure systems and cover key implementation methodologies.”

A hands-on workshop concludes Day One, with attendees receiving a free Renesas Synergy SK-S7G2 Starter Kit and expert training on how to build connected systems by communicating sensor data from the board to a smartphone. Other technologies and applications addressed at Embedded TechCon 2016, which is entering its second year, include Heterogeneous/Multicore Programming, Debug, and Test; Pre-Silicon ARM Software Development; Agile for Embedded and IoT; Software-Centric Machine Vision and Control Systems; Code Quality and Integrity for the IoT; Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Connected Device Deployment; and more.
