Vancouver, BC, CANADA – November 19th, 2008 – Wurldtech(T) Security Technologies, a leading provider of cyber-risk and compliance management solutions for industrial automation industries worldwide, today announced that the Trident(T) industrial controller manufactured by Invensys Process Systems (IPS) as been awarded the Achilles(T) Level 1 Cyber-Security Certification from Wurldtech(T) Labs.

“As cyber threats increase in frequency and sophistication, operators of process automation and control systems are demanding the highest levels of safety, security and reliability when deploying new industrial networks,” says Luis Duran, IPS Director of Product Marketing, Safety and Critical Controls. “By certifying our product portfolio and integrating the certification criteria into our internal product development lifecycle, IPS continues to ensure that our global clients receive the highest level of ongoing security assurance to improve the integrity of their industrial operations.”

The Achilles Certified designation provides equipment manufacturers with an independently verified and internationally recognized endorsement to demonstrate the resiliency of their Ethernet-enabled control systems to customers. The Achilles Certification program is also an important worldwide evaluation standard for many of the world’s largest end users of SCADA and process control systems, with the brand now trusted and recognized as a selection criteria in many internal vendor procurement documents.

“We congratulate IPS for achieving Achilles Level 1 Certification for their Trident controller – their second system now endorsed by the program,” said Tyler Williams, President and CEO of Wurldtech Security Technologies. “By demonstrating compliance with the most demanding cyber-security performance standards available today, their customers can be confident the Trident controller will help improve system reliability and reduce cyber-risk exposure that could cause downtime or disruption to industrial operations.”

Developed in 2007, the Achilles Certification Program provides a benchmark for the development and deployment of secure industrial Ethernet devices by testing control process resilience and robustness under real-world conditions and validating that operational integrity is not jeopardized. The Achilles Certification testing methodology employed by Wurldtech Labs is the result of more than two years of research, industry cooperation and end-user feedback.
