These 10G XFP transceivers are a hot-swappable, protocol-independent devices typically operating at 850nm. They are designed for 10 Gigabit per second SONET/SDH, Fibre Channel, gigabit Ethernet, 10 gigabit Ethernet and other applications like DWDM links. The transceivers are especially useful for MMF applications.
GAO’s 10G-XFP-SR Foundry compatible transceivers include digital diagnostics similar, but more extensive, to SFF-8472 which provides a robust management tool. The transceivers are used for both telecommunication and data communication applications.
