Falls Church, VA, December 12, 2011 – HandySoft (www.handysoft.com), a leading provider of Business Process Management (BPM) technology and solutions, is proud to announce that one of their customers, the Naval Special Warfare Group Four’s (NSWG4) Government Purchase Card Program, has been named a finalist in the 2012 Process Excellence Awards in the “Best BPM Project” category.
IQPC – PEX Network’s industry renowned Process Excellence Awards recognize exceptional Process Excellence business results. This award program is for the community, judged by the community – a hand-selected panel of industry-only experts for Lean Six Sigma and BPM. The “Best BPM Project” category is designed to recognize the success in individual BPM projects in supporting the enterprise-wide value chain. Submissions were assessed on their ability to demonstrate successful BPM results across the people, process and IT and judged on initial implementation success, as well as future sustainability and governance.
NSWG4’s program was developed in response to their need to improve efficiency, transparency, and reliability of their processing system to ensure their ability to complete missions with fewer available assets. The solution expertly weaves Lean Six Sigma and dynamic BPM into a system called SWIFT – which successfully met this challenge, and exceeded expectations. Within a 6 month time-frame, SWIFT was up and running, and NSWG4 had an automated workflow solution in place that reduced procurement lead time, improved accuracy, visibility, and all around satisfaction and improved performance of the Government Purchase Card Program (GPCP) process. Built upon BizFlow, HandySoft’s automated business process workflow software application, and guided by input and active participation from the SWIFT team and consultants RF Logistics, this solution provides visibility into the process, standardization, and forcing function for over 6,000 purchases and $5.2 million spent annually.
“We’re delighted that NSWG4’s Government Purchase Card Program was chosen as a finalist in the ‘Best BPM Project’ category,” said Harry Clarke, President and CEO, HandySoft. “It’s wonderful that the project was recognized by the Lean Six Sigma and BPM community as a successful program with future sustainability.”
As a finalist, NSWG4 will continue to a round of face-to-face judging on January 16th at the 13th Annual Process Excellence Week in Orlando, FL. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony the following day.
