Our adapter includes a PCIe switch chip. Some competitor products do not provide a PCIe switch, therefore reducing adapter costs by tolerating a violation of the PCIe Gen3 specs.

All modern operating systems can treat a PCIe switch in a plug and play manner, meaning that the switch remains virtually transparent, as if the PCIe component(s) behind the switch on the secondary PCIe bus were part of the primary PCIe bus.

Using the PCIe-Adapter/switch allows standard PCIe boards to work in a VPX system and it is both a reliable technical solution, and a smart economical decision.

The PCIe-Adapter frees the system integrator from the need of a redesign of PCIe cards already available to the VPX standard.

This is a great advantage, especially when time to market is critical, or the number of systems to be built is limited, or the function to be implemented has fast innovation cycles.

Customized versions are available.
