MONONA, Wis., Sept 6, 2018 – Apex Embedded Systems LLC, an established leader in manufacturing PC/104 products, has launched an updated revision to its already successful Tracer digital I/O card greatly extending product life cycle. The Tracer is a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) solution used in military, aerospace and industrial applications. The Tracer is available now at Apex Embedded Systems’ newly launched site (https://www.apexembeddedsystems.com).

The newly refreshed Tracer digital I/O PC/104 module is available in three I/O range flavors: full 5 volt I/O, safe 3.3 volt I/O and any I/O voltage range down to 1.85 volts is possible.

In a low voltage digital world many 5 volt devices still exist such as relays, solid state relays and LEDs. These devices require a full 5 volt swing which the Tracer seamlessly provides, especially for complete turn-off for low side driven devices. The full 5 volt swing allows direct drive of CMOS electronics that do not support TTL logic levels.

The 3.3 volt I/O range allows safe direct interfacing to 3.3 volt logic. In this range, 5 volts is never delivered to any output. All digital inputs are 5 volt tolerant.

It is possible to support other voltage ranges down to 1.85 volts, contact Apex for details.

Features:

• Legacy compatibility with many other PC/104 cards supporting i8255 and i8254 devices

• 32 mA current output capability per digital I/O
