Bellevue, Wash. — April 14, 2011 — GoAhead® Software, the worldwide leader in middleware for embedded systems, today announced that the company has surpassed 100,000 deployments of its software. The company also achieved a record six design wins in the current quarter for OpenSAFfire – GoAhead’s flagship high availability solution. “It is satisfying to see the very positive market acceptance of our strategy and products,” said Asif Naseem, GoAhead President and COO. “It is especially gratifying to see the increasing support for OpenSAFfire among new customers. GoAhead made the move to our OpenSAF-based strategy only last year, and this acceleration of adoption in early 2011 has exceeded our expectations.”

The six OpenSAFfire design wins included network equipment companies, a major systems integrator in the defense industry, and wireless equipment providers for both edge devices and core routing equipment. . The success of OpenSAFfire is a direct result of the underlying progress of OpenSAF itself. OpenSAF is the open source high availability project supported by leading network equipment and communications companies.

The powerful market validation for OpenSAFfire – the only commercial distribution of OpenSAF – comes in advance of the OpenSAF Conference coming soon on May 17-18 at MIT in Cambridge, MA. This year’s conference will bring together many of the industry’s leading players for in-depth technical presentations on OpenSAF-based applications and deployments. Network equipment industry leaders and major system integrators from the defense industry will be on hand to share their knowledge and experience.
