Quantum3D, Inc., leading provider of Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) real-time visual computing solutions, today announced that it has been ISO 9001:2008 certified.

The announcement signals a continued improvement in product quality efforts since the company hired quality expert Richard Fenwick toward year’s end. The company believes that ISO 9001:2008 is an important driver of quality for its efforts in the next-generation of military programs, including the use of its ExpeditionDI man-wearable training systems for immersive ground soldier training.

Director of Quality, Richard Fenwick, noted, “This is an important achievement for Quantum3D, but it is most important to note that quality is an ongoing process. We’ve made a commitment to our customers and they’ve liked what they have seen so far. This certification is yet another step that we are taking to ensure that our products exceed our customers’ expectations.”

ISO 9000 is a family of standards for quality management systems. ISO 9000 is maintained by ISO, the International Organization for Standardization and is administered by accreditation and certification bodies. Specifically, ISO 9001:2008 certification recognizes organizations that can link business objectives with operating effectiveness. Companies that achieve Management System certification to ISO 9001:2008 have demonstrated effective implementation of documentation and records management, top management’s commitment to their customers, establishment of clear policy, good planning and implementation, good resource management, efficient process control, measurement and analysis. Continual improvement has been institutionalized.
